Welcome to my part of the 2021 Fall Home Tour hosted by lovely Marty at A Stroll Thru Life! I couldn’t be more honored to be on the tour again and I am right in the middle of two of my very favorite bloggers, Yvonne from StoneGable and Shayna from The Woodgrain Cottage (she’s like a celeb to me….I’ve been following her forever!) Let me say upfront, I do not belong in this group…I completely understand that I am out of my league here. My blogging skills are mildly acceptable and I know that I am not consistent with my content. But I love to take photos and share them and I am really appreciative of the time you spend here at Quarters One.
Another confession before we go further…I have not yet begun to decorate for Fall. We are at the beach and, no matter what the calendar says, we are still firmly planted in summer weather and some of life’s chaos. I am going to share a lovely fall evening, I haven’t shared before, that I had with my dearest friends last fall when we gathered at our cabin in the mountains.

Limelights straight from the garden.

My beautiful friend, Trish, arranging the flowers!

My favorite plates from Deruta, Italy.

Melissa and I have been friends for over 30 years, she has visited me in nearly every place we’ve been stationed. Beautiful inside and out!

I collected (with Melissa’s help!) a pile of these soft faux fur blankets from Home Goods, we use them all the time for dinners on the porch that turn a little chilly!

The menu was pasta with veggies, an apple and pecan salad, lots of bread and wine!

Isn’t it all so pretty? I can’t really take credit for this evening because, although everything belongs to me and the cabin is ours…we took turns cooking and setting the table each evening we were together. This evening was one I did not really have a hand in. Many thanks to Melissa, Trish, Linda, Elizabeth, and Karen for a spectacular fall dinner and besties weekend!
With Gratitude, Shand
Oh my gosh, that view and setting! So pretty! I want to come over for dinner.
You’re welcome anytime!!
Absolutely dreamy! (Is that word used anymore)? But that’s what came to mind. You have a setting and set a table of my dreams!
Thank you so much!! It was dreamy!
Hi Shand! Your table and the setting on your porch is quintessential fall! I’m finding so many lovely ideas for my fall tables! I would so enjoy being a guest for your evening with friends! Thank you for the lovely introduction! Happy Fall! 🍁
Thank you, Yvonne, that means so much to me! I just love your style!!
I love all the wonderful textures in your Fall table settings! It certainly looks like you had a cozy Fall get-together at your cabin!
It was a wonderful evening!
Oh wow, what a gorgeous place to gather with friends for a fabulous time together. The setting is beautiful and your tablesetting is stunning. Sounds like you all had a wonderful time together. Thanks so much for joining the tour, so great to have you join us again
Thank you so much for including me!
Such a lovely fall tabletop! I love the layers and textures.
Thank you so much!
This is a beautiful setting and it looks like a perfect fall dinner with your friends. You have inspired me to have my girlfriends over to our screened in pavilion for a fall dinner. What part of the US is your cabin in? It all looks so lovely!
It is in the Blue Ridge Mountains of NC! Have a great time with your girlfriends!!
Just discovered your blog. We too live close to the NC coast just south of Wilmington NC and have a mountain cabin in East TN not far from Boone NC. We definitely believe we have the best of both worlds-beach and mountains.
I am following you on Instagram but could not see a way to follow your blog. Is there a place to sign up?
It is the best of both worlds!! I wish our drive were shorter! I am still setting up this particular site and trying to figure that piece out…I don’t blog as often as others so it’s always on my Instagram. As soon as I have that together I will note it there. Thank you so much for following!!! Shand
I’ll bet that was a magical night! Such a nice idea to have a throw at every place setting so you can extend the time you can use your porch–I might have to copy that! Enjoy your time at the beach, and happy (almost) fall!
Wow! This is so beautiful! I love the colors and your dishes! What a wonderful space for Fall dining!! I’m inspired!
The table, view, and food all look amazing! What lovely friends you have. Happy Fall!
