A million thank yous to Marty at A Stroll Thru Life for putting together 30 talented bloggers for the 2021 Summer Home Tour. Once again, I can’t believe I am privileged to be among such beautiful homes! You can find the whole fabulous line up at the end of this post. If you’ve come over from Brianna at Bloom in the Black…just wow, right? I love her style!
Just by virtue of living at the beach we are kind of always decorated for summer at Lost Cay Cottage. But I do like to make a clean sweep and put away cozy clutter, heavy blankets and darker pillows. Since we have a new pink front door which you can read about here, I thought I would bring some of that color in the living room. This is the first time I’ve shared our living room, other than Christmas. Great timing, too, as we have several new pieces of furniture!
Our door greeter, Tippet! Drop your flip flops and come in!
I love this natural fiber rug from Amazon and, unfortunately, so does Beau…our tripod Beagle. So to cover some of his mistakes that I can not seem to get out we layered with a Ruggable. I can not get enough of these rugs! This one is the Kamran in Hazel.
We looked every where for a substantial coffee table to fit the oversized sofas but everything we found was too expensive, too heavy or both. So we opted for two smaller coffee tables that I love because they are so much easier to move around if we need to!
I bet you can’t guess what these are in the picture below?! They are antique ceramic escargot pots I may have collected when we were stationed in Stuttgart, Germany very near the French border. My favorite thing to do was take a trip to the Alsace-Lorraine region and just have lunch! The ceramic bird bowl holding shells above is also from a day tripping around Strasbourg, the largest city in the Alsace region.
Those were the days, my friend!
(Just on a side note, I am veganish…which means I eat a plant based diet with a little fish now and then but never snails!)
Another favorite thing of my to collect are chippy white corbels!
I love our Samsung Frame TV! It’s really fun to change out the artwork every day and have something new to look at!
I’ll have some more beach cottage decor coming up! I hope you’ll come back to visit! In the meantime don’t forget to head over to Jenn at Clean and Scentsible for more super cute ideas and ways to keep organized!
